SEED PRODUCTION

· Southedge Seeds is heavily involved in the production of many of our specialty products.
· With more than 35 years experience in seed production, the Staff at Southedge Seeds have an excellent agronomic grasp on our proprietary products as well as many of the commonly grown species for seed production.
· Southedge Seeds is heavily involved during the seed production phase either contracting growers for their requirements or leasing irrigated land to carry out production ourselves.
· To offer the full gamut of services, Southedge Seeds also has a selection of harvesting equipment from Combine Harvester, Suction Harvesters and Brazilian Brush Harvester, used for harvesting our own crops as well as being available for contract harvest of pasture seed grown around the Mareeba / Dimbulah region.

GRADING AND PACKAGING

· To complement the seed production and marketing aspects of the business, Southedge Seeds runs a commercial seed cleaning operation, cleaning its own seed as well as conducting outside work for growers in the surrounding district.
· The commercial grading business, allows Southedge Seeds to control the quality of the seed that is cleaned through our plant, enabling us to supply only the highest quality grass and legume seeds to our customers.
· All seed processed through our cleaning plant is bulk sampled with divided seed samples being sent to I.S.T.A. accredited laboratories for seed analysis certification.
